Using Gallup’s StrengthsFinder, I’ve both learned about myself and others – and how we can work together.
1. Learner
I love to learn. The process intrigues me, even if I’m not an expert on any certain material. Instead, I take pride in trying different things, exploring new experiences, and knowing a little bit of everything. I am continuously motivated to improve my knowledge.
2. Analytical
Cause and effect, critical thinking, and discovering why things are the way they are interest me. I enjoy questioning everything and discovering how things, and people, work. I am able to think logically very easily and quickly which allows me to develop clear, factual solutions to problems.
3. Strategic
Often I am considering many different options at, what feels like, all at once. I am quickly able to determine multiple routes to a single goal, and choose the most relevant and probable solutions. I am able to think both forward and backward, visualize a large amount of information at once, and evaluate information at a speed which causes others to question whether I have truly considered all option.
4. Individualization
This strength makes me a very strong team player and skilled at creating teams. When working with others, I am able to identify the strengths each person brings to the table and how very different people can change their routine slightly to all work well together. I relate to others easily and excel at maximizing the talents of myself and others both singularly and in team settings.
5. Competition
Comparing myself to others motivates me highly, and challenges me to constantly be learning, improving, and creating in order to excel. When I lose, I do so gracefully, but I always work my hardest to ensure I come out on top.
