Hey there, I’m Lauren. :)
infinite is about the endless possibilities in life & understanding that it’s all the little things that count in the end. For me, the little things I like to do everyday are explore, experiment, examine, exaggerate, excite, excel, execute, exclaim, exercise, expose, exist, & repeat.
I try to share my little things & encourage others to do the same. Currently I’m reviewing a bunch of upcoming TV series for the Fall 2014 season.
My Past
Born & raised in Florida, I grew up in a town smaller than 20 thousand people – much smaller than just the undergrad population at my University. At school, I worked part-time as a student supervisor for our on-campus computer labs (we had 50+ employees and 5 locations) and volunteered as special events director then president of our student union programming board, Reitz Union Board Entertainment (with 120+ members and >$150,000 budget)! In the Fall of 2013, my adventure was over the pond – London! While there, I experienced my first-ever time abroad and traveled to new countries, learned about new cultures, worked at an internship, & still found a little time to play. :) My first experience in a big city was life changing – an adventure & dream in one. (I came from a teeny, tiny town – remember?) As the adventures continue, I realize more and more that the future I really want is just a fulfilled and happy one – not working a prestigious job but simply pursuing my dreams & inspirations.
My Present
A recent University of Florida graduate, I’m deciding that maybe I wasn’t cut from the same cookie as my parents – I’ve given up the job hunt and I’m starting my very own freelance career of WordPress development over at Once Coupled. While I’m open at all opportunities, my interests lie in organization, design, strategy, creativity, analytics, & spontaneity! When I’m bored, I like to explore new recipes, experiment with my hair, & expose new photos.
My Future
With my new-found free time and all the lessons I was taught at the University of Florida, I will continue to expand my online business and expand my lifestyle blog to include the musings of feeling lost, finding hope, and fighting for the future I choose.
Surprising Facts
- I own three cats. Buuuuut I don’t like cat “things”.
- I only drink water – and Zephyrhills at that. None o’ dat Dasani trash. (Ice, please, London!)
- I watch an exorbitant number of television shows. Check them out!
- My boyfriend and I train our cats to do weird things. (Ex. they tap their collars on their bowls to be fed.)
- Logic, a well-formed argument, and emotionally gripping books are my faves!
- My house is full of lists that I made one time to get organized – and then never looked at again.
- I collect pins from around the world. (And I’m determined to do a super crafty display with them… one day!)
- I eat ice cream out of the container, which is apparently not considered “appropriate”. Some might equate it to drinking milk from the jug…
- I have the entire set of plastic Burger King collector’s cups.
- I don’t like wearing pants.
- My BFF knows more facts about me than I know about myself!
The Interesting Bits
So this is me. Well, this isn’t really me. I mean, of course it’s me. But this photo is from 2011. And so it really isn’t me anymore. Nobody’s the same for that long, are they? But that’s OK, because it’s the photo I just use everywhere.
Right here, this is the real me! Post-grad workin’ girl. You know, making money to support my non-money-making photography addiction. But that’s not really what matters in the end, is it? It’s that I love photography, and more than anything I like trying new things.
And hey, it’s looking good, right? Astrophotography 101: bring a tripod and your laptop, pre-installed with your camera’s software. This beauty was taken out in Potter Valley, California!
Not that I let myself take anything too seriously. Once, I tricked my cats into laying in my light box. The result? Posed-looking photos that gave me priceless #hashtag combinations!
Having recently graduated from the University of Florida, I’m the proud recipient of a Digital Arts and Sciences Bachelor of Science. Which basically means I know how to code, I’m a graphics pro, and I’m all geared up to take on the modern mobile and gaming challenges of our programming society. Not that I’m sold that I want to be limited be this! ;)
Here’s me traveling! After constant schooling for 4 years (seriously, I’ve taken Summer classes since I started University early) I spent this past one traveling whenever the opportunity arose.
… I eat cereal from outrageously large bowls. Normally during inappropriate times. Like in the middle of public soccer games. Or when I’m walking to car, on my way to work.
Reitz Union Board Entertainment: the best organization I could have been involved with at the University of Florida.
My boyfriend, Kristofer, in Nashville with me! It was cold. And bright. We’ve recently discovered our relationship is really held together by our mutual love for my best friend Nadia:
Who is always willing to take this exact same photo with me, in a variety of locations, and is my other half.
See? What did I tell you. She’s all we have in common now! :p
All you need to know to understand my mom and I.
My little brother and sister are 11 and 12 years younger than me. They like to remind me that I often look like I should still be in high school.
But I mostly ignore them, put up with the abuse, and say mean things back. ;) Then we all laugh and go off to do science projects together.
